rayBLAST Wrapping Up New iPhone Fast Color-Matching Tap-Shooter, impaXor

Story added: 28 Oct 2009 22:21

Another app that should be due soon

rayBLAST is soon to finish impaXor, an exciting new shooter that expounds on the use of color-matching and fast-tapping, laser action. Utilizing the powerful Unity Pro iPhone Advanced game engine, rayBLAST was able to take full advantage of the iPhone and iPod touch capabilities. impaXor is set to be released in early November.

impaXor was developed by game industry veteran, Marshal Hernandez, owner of rayBLAST. Using the Unity engine allowed for total commitment to production in terms of gameplay, graphics, music, and even humor without worrying about developing essential core technologies. Rapid prototyping using an agile development method was key in finding the right balance in difficulty and the ever elusive fun factor.

“Selecting the right tools to work with allowed me to express my vision in graphics, sound, music, and interactivity. So I guess you could really say itʼs all me. This has really been a very personal experience. One person can develop a high-quality game if they have the abilities, dedication, and right approach,” explained Marshal.

impaXor is scheduled for release in early November and will require a minimum of iPhone OS version 3.0. Additional information can be found on the rayBLAST website at www.rayblast.com. You can follow Marshal and his independent game development adventures on Twitter at @_rayBLAST_ .
