As you may know, Mobile Game Faqs has been around for quite a few years now and we've played all manner of game types on Java, N-Gage and occasionally Windows Mobile. It's strange that it's taken 5 years for these water toy based games to come to the mobile, in particular the iPhone. iWater Flow is one of the many water toy apps that have hit the App Store in recent months.

Oldies of a certain age may remember picking up these water toys from your local newsagent or toy shop. They were roughly the size of a Gameboy but without the interchangeable cartridges so your game time revolved around the single puzzle. Thankfully iWater Flow gives you four different puzzles to pass the time. The toys themselves were filled with water and you would press down on a couple of buttons to create a current within the toy so you could shift the rings on top of the poles.

iWater Flow is a simple game based on an old simple toy but the developers, Dancing Dots, have got the complex fluid dynamics figured out. We've played a few of these water based games in the past and none of them fully captured the drag of the water that iWater Flow has managed to achieve.

As good as the dynamics are, there is only so much you can do with such a basic concept. The game does come with three different modes. Rush challenges you to place 5 hoops as quickly as possible; Time Trial gives you three minutes to score as many hoops as you can.

iWater Flow's main selling point is the use of Open Feint. There are plenty of online achievements in addition to the online high score tables. Even though the game is pretty straight forward, the online aspect should keep you coming back for more.
