Anannya Sens Review
Zipline up to the dizzy heights.
Iphone games are supposed to be simple and addictive. This one seems to deliver on both counts. You look like Spidey in the initial venom outfit as a black outlined figure who has to climb up scaffolding. The aim is to get as high as you can. That's it really.
It's not as easy as it sounds. The climb is vertical, but you can ping off walls and climb at angles. It's basically using a Spider-man webline to catch onto scaffolding and propel yourself up. Press the screen to launch your cable and if it hits the underside of a beam, you shoot up towards it.
As you get to the beam, your cable will release, so you need to fire it again, onto another beam. The beams only take up part of the screen and therefore you have to angle your shots. You do this by tilting the phone. So essentially it's a one hand game, tilt and press the screen to angle your shots and fire your cable.
It gets quite addictive. You can press the cable fire any number of times so as you release, it can be some frantic pressing and tilting to catch another beam. When you zip up you look a bit like Superman sometimes if you catch a straight shot and if you catch a good diagonal, you can be bouncing around the screen at speed.
The graphics are quite funky and the background is a deep red giving the game a nice look. If you miss a line, then you fall all the way to the ground and get impaled. Nice. You can get some really good height and when you catch a good few shots, you'll want to keep playing. Sometimes the tilting and catching the next shot can be a bit fiddly, but if you start to prepare for it, you get the hang of it soon enough. Music is quite funky too and there are some good scores on the leaderboards.
Overall a fun game and worth a look.
