Costas Stephanides s Review

Great but very easy shoot 'em up
Toxic Terror harks back to the good old days of enviromental doom and gloom and is set in its aftermath. Basically it's an excuse for the developers to create some funky creatures for you to blow up.
Graphically, the developers have done while. The backgrounds are cleverly drawn, they are well detailed but there is a fast loading time. There are plenty of varied creatures and the game remains fresh throughout all the levels. It is the overall freshness that gives the game its endearing quality. The controls are simple enough, your ship is on auto fire and all you have to do is steer your craft around the screen. Power-ups and extra lives are available to help you on your way.
The key to the game is to keep hold of your power-up. Most of these boosted weapons make easy work of the enemy and with a little bit of care you should make it all the way to the end-of-level boss. If you survive to the end of the level you should take care of the boss pretty easily.
The only trouble with the game is its level of difficulty - or not. The game is quite easy. An average gamer should be able to complete this after a few attempts. It all depends on what you want from a game. If you are after a quick 5 minute buzz which you can easily complete and then fight for the top score then this is the perfect game. If you are after a challenge where every completed level is a major victory then this isn't the game for you.
Luckily, the game is available for only a couple of quid so it wont cost much to find out.
